About Wideman/Davis Dance Company:

The Wideman/Davis Dance Company tours and performs worldwide, bridging cultural gaps through its blend of dance and dialogue on the human condition. Co-artistic director Thaddeus Davis was featured in Dance Magazine (January 2002) as one of "25 to Watch in the World," Tanya Wideman-Davis was named "Best Female Dancer of 2001-2002" by Dance Europe magazine.

The Wideman/Davis Dance Company premiered "Bends of Life" in the Mary Lea Johnson Performing Arts Center in 2007, and received a glowing review from New York Times dance critic Jennifer Dunning. She called the performance "bold" and "eloquent" with a distinctive choreographic voice, and applauded Calhoun's Performing Arts Center as "a welcoming home" and a "fertile ground where art can simply push through." (Read the review).

In 2008, they performed "Based on Images," choreographed by Thaddeus Davis.  The dance was inspired by the media images of Hurricane Katrina. It examined the desperate and frustrating days when everything in New Orleans and the Gulf Coast hung in balance, exploring how this natural disaster has led to immense human tragedy.
