The award-winning documentary “Playing for Change: Peace Through Music,” lands at Calhoun this January after its whirlwind tour of film festivals and benefit concerts.  “Playing for Change” is more than just a film, it is an exciting multimedia movement created to inspire, connect, and bring peace to the world through music.

After creating a portable recording studio, filmmaker Mark Johnson visited countless countries around the globe to facilitate cross-continental collaboration on songs like “Stand by Me” and Bob Marley’s “One World.”  The ongoing endeavor has featured more than 100 artists from around the world performing “together;” the documentary is a celebration of how music can unite the world.

Calhoun's Performing Arts Series enters its sixth year with an exciting program of music, children's theater, documentary films and lectures. The series is open to the public. For a full schedule, click here.
