SummerCare is a six-week summer program for children entering Calhoun's 3's-1st grades. Set in the child-centered environment of Calhoun's Lower School building, the program offers a flexible schedule of 2-days, 3-days or 5-days per week. [Calhoun students only]

Dates: June 21- July 30 [6 weeks]
Hours: 8:30am-2:30pm
Enrollment: 30 children, ages 3-1st Grade
Student/Teacher Ratio: 5 to 1
Other: Children bring lunch from home; beverages and nutritious snacks are provided in the morning and afternoon.
Weekly Rate*: $600/five days; $450/3 days; $300/2 days
Deposit: $600
Balance Due: by June 2, 2010

*There are no refunds or make-up days due to illness or vacation. All medical forms must be on file before admittance to camp, in accordance with licensing regulations.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Designed for young children, SummerCare is a healthy balance of developmentally appropriate indoor and outdoor activities. Children work in both mixed and segregated age groups according to the activity. Each day includes a group meeting time with stories, songs and conversation about the day's schedule. Activities include arts & crafts, music, blocks, dramatic play, small construction, cooking, sand and water play, computer, and use of the outdoor play terrace--equipped with water sprinkler and climbing structure.

Faculty: All experienced early childhood professionals and members of the Calhoun School faculty.
The Facility
SummerCare is housed in The Robert L. Beir Lower School buildig of The Calhoun School, located at 160 West 74th Street between Amsterdam and Columbus Avenues. A completely renovated townhouse, it was redesigned in 1989 to meet the needs of an early childhood population. Classrooms are large and sunny, and filled with substantive, stimulating materials appropriate for young children. The building also offers a play terrace with climbing structure and sprinkler, indoor gym and library. Classrooms are air conditioned.
