About CST

CST explores storytelling, puppetry, playwriting and improvisation in a student-driven adventure led by Artistic Director Micaela Blei and guest artists, The Striking Viking Story Pirates. From adapting original stories to inventing never-before-seen characters, CST participants have the opportunity to explore, play and create in a focused and fun environment.

Program Details
Participants: Students ages 7-10 (entering 3rd -5th grade)
Dates: One and two-week options: June 2011 dates TBA.
Daily Schedule: M-F, 8:30am-3pm [lunch not included]
Enrollment: Limited to 16 students*
Tuition: $650/week
Deposit: $300/week non-refundable deposit is required to reserve a spot.
Location: The Calhoun School

Artistic Director
Micaela Blei, CST Artistic Director, is a third grade teacher at The Calhoun School and a curriculum director for the Striking Viking Story Pirates.  Micaela has taught drama and improvisation classes to students from 5-15, and has trained both teachers and students in technology and arts curriculum. 

Striking Viking Story Pirates
Micaela Blei will be joined in guiding the students in the creative process by the Striking Viking Story Pirates, a professional children's theater company that works with New York City schools and annually tours more than 250 schools nationwide, creating performances and workshops based on students' original stories. The Story Pirates have been actively involved in Calhoun's Lower School literary arts program for a number of years.

*CST is subject to cancellation, pending enrollment of a minimum of 12 students.
