Where Calhouners Go

Calhoun students continue on to small liberal arts colleges and conservatories, technical colleges and large universities--public and private institutions, spread geographically across the country. The rich array of destinations reflects the diversity and individuality of our students--many choosing to follow the road less traveled!

College Picture Shines Bright for Class of 2017

It was an especially happy 2017 for our 55 seniors. A few impressive stats? Of the 37 students who applied Early Decision or Restricted Early Action, 28 were successful--that's 75 percent who knew by December that they were going to a first-choice school And the number of acceptances to top-choice schools continued to roll in. In the end, our seniors--29 of them lifers at Calhoun since at least kindergarten--were set to go to 41 distinct institutions. This list is a point of real pride for us; not because of the names of the institutions--although it certainly includes a number of highly selective schools--but because we know the quality and depth of the conversations that were behind the decisions each student made.

Class of 2016

In 2016, our students defied projections and conventional “wisdom” when it came to college acceptances: A record number of members of the class of 2016 applied early—and were admitted—to their top-choice schools; 27 applied Early Decision and 20 were admitted, another 14 applied Early Action to the school they’ll be attending; fifty seniors received an offer of admission to at least one school before winter break (sighs of relief!); and 40 percent were admitted everywhere they applied!
