Giving to Calhoun takes many forms: volunteering, raising money, and securing gifts-in-kind are just some of the ways that donors help meet costs that fund the unique Calhoun experience.
The financial support that The Calhoun School receives each year from parents, alumnae/i and friends makes it possible for the school to pursue an educational mission that values small classes; excellence in teaching; and creative, experiential learning. We continue to raise major gifts in order to expand and support our school's resources, salary increases and professional development for our faculty/staff, and Calhoun's diversity initiatives.
In addition to the yearly financial demands of the school's operations, which are only partially met by tuition, the Calhoun community rose to the last challenge of a five-year capital campaign. The Growing Up With Calhoun capital campaign (1999-2004) raised more than $12 million towards the expansion of the school's 81st Street building, completed in the fall of 2004. The construction nearly doubled the size of the facility, adding a full-size athletic center, performing arts center, science and language labs, art studios, and an eco-friendly Green Roof.
The Calhoun community is a generous one, and we invite you to join the many members who have supported our school.
