Chef Katie takes over the menus for the next 5 days. Katie is from Austin, Texas, and she gets us started today with some Texas food. Our entrée is Barbecue Chicken Sandwiches. Along with the sandwich we’ll have Sugar Snap Peas, which are currently in their short season, and our delicious Oven Fries. Our vegetarians will enjoy a Barbecue Tofu sandwich. The soup today is Broccoli Soup, one of my favorites. Since we are having a sandwich for our entrée, there will not be an additional sandwich.
I don’t know what’s up with the weather today, it feels like a typical humid Spring day in New Orleans. I almost feel like we should be having po’boy sandwiches for lunch. The question is “will it rain or not?” In New Orleans, it definitely would. This time of the year it rains everyday for at least 15 minutes. That helps to keep things damp and steamy!
