Book Group, "The Other One Percent," Meets April 6

The next meeting of "The Other One Percent," a six-series reading and discussion group, will focus on the book "Banished to the Homeland: Dominican Deportees and Their Stories of Exile," with a discussion facilitated by co-author David C. Brotherton. The event, which will be held at the St. Agnes Branch of the NY Public Library, is open to the public. RSVP recommended.

Donate Plastic Bottles for Calhoun's Earth Day

The Calhoun School is collecting recycled bottles for two sustainability projects leading up to the school's Earth Day celebration. Water and soda bottles are needed for a planting project and the Gallon Challenge. Collection bins will be placed in the 81st Street lobby from April 3-21.

Tight Contest for Alum B-Ball Game

January's annual Alumni Basketball Game was a thriller this year, with former varsity players facing off in a battle of the decades. The contest went into triple-overtime, with key plays by Zeke Edwards '91, Zach Lazare '08 and Zeus Rocancourt '15, before finally going to the older squad of veterans. See photos!

Both the Boys' and the Girls' Varsity Basketball teams enter the NYCAL quarterfinal games on Tues., Feb. 14! The girls play AT HOME against UNIS (4pm); boys play their quarterfinal game AWAY at LFNY (5:30pm).

On Mon., Jan. 23, the Girls' Basketball Program is hosting a fundraiser, We Back Pat, to raise money and awareness for Alzheimer's. There will be a bake sale and t-shirt sale beginning at 3:15pm. A Girls' Varsity home game begins at 4pm.
