Calhoun Hosted Social Justice-Themed Summer Conference for Educators

Teachers and administrators from schools across the country braved the city heat in mid-July to participate in the annual conference of Network of Complementary Schools, a domestic exchange program for students and teachers. The event, for Network advisors, was hosted by Calhoun and Upper School Associate Director Lavern McDonald.

US Picks Coates' "Between the World and Me" for Summer Read

Ta-Nehisi Coates' "Between the World and Me," a Pulitzer Prize finalist and National Book Award winner, has been selected as the 2016 Upper School's summer read. When school resumes in the fall, the book will be the jumping-off point for division-wide discussions and activities.

Cougar Update: Varsity Golf, Track and Volleyball

It's a championship challenge week for the Cougars! On Monday, May 16, the Varsity Track team competes in the NYCAL Championship Meet, on Wednesday, May 18, the Boys' Varsity Volleyball athletes start their run in the quarterfinals of the Inter-League Championship Tournament, and on Thursday, May 19, the Varsity Golf team takes on four NYCAL rivals in the NYCAL Championship Tournament. Boys' Volleyball NYCAL Semi-Finals on Wed., May 11

The Boys' Varsity Volleyball team will compete in the NYCAL championship tournament semi-finals on our home court on Wed., May 11, in the 81st Street gym. (Time and opponent to be determined.) A win in the semis would advance the Cougars to the championship finals on Fri., May 13.

Undefeated Varsity Volleyball Hosts Last Home Game, May 3!

The Boys' Varsity Volleyball team heads into its last regular season home game undefeated, squaring off against UNIS on Tues., May 3, at 4:15pm. The athletes roll into the last scheduled home game having dropped only two sets all season, giving them a 7-0 record thus far in league play. Just before the game, beginning at 3:30pm, Calhoun will honor the team's senior athletes in the Calhoun gym at 81st Street. Come out to show your support and Cougar spirit!
