JV Volleyball Team Wins League Championship

The Girls' JV Volleyball team has won the NYCAL League Championship! Cougars grabbed the title after finishing the season with two exciting back-to-back wins at home and ending with a 9-1 league record! This sets up Calhoun to host the semi-final game at home as the #1 seed in the NYCAL League Tournament on Tues., Oct. 18; opponent and time to be determined.

Varsity Volleyball: Last Home Game and Senior Night, Oct. 19

The Girls' Varsity Volleyball team plays its last regular season home game on Wed., Oct. 19, 5:15pm--a game that will also determine the team's seed in the upcoming Championship Tournament. It's also Senior Night, when the team and community recognize and applaud the seniors on the team. Join the celebration and cheer on the Cougars!

Dig Pink! Raising Funds for Breast Cancer, Oct. 13

The Girls' Volleyball program holds its annual DIG PINK fundraiser on Oct. 13, to raise money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation and local support organizations. The festivities will begin at 3pm in the 81st Street lobby with a bake sale and a special Dig Pink Calhoun t-shirt sale. Then, at 4pm, the Girls' Varsity Volleyball team take on UNIS starting in the 81st Street gym.

Consider applying to DOROT for a school-year internship. Volunteer opportunities include: teaching seniors how to use a computer, iPad, or other types of technology; shopping and delivering groceries; delivering meals; offering companionshp to seniors in their homes; celebrating birthdays; reading to the visually challenged; playing games; or offering general support for the organization's work. Reading Workshop of Ben Boecker's New Musical, "Spellbound" Oct. 21
