Calhoun Book Fair at Barnes & Noble, May 24

Support Calhoun while stocking up on gifts and summer reading! Everyone can participate—parents, students, faculty/staff, grandparents, friends and neighbors—by going to Barnes & Noble (82nd Street & Broadway) on Thursday, May 24, 9am-10pm—OR by making purchases ONLINE, May 24-31! A percentage of all purchases of books, toys, games and gift items goes directly to the school. Plus, don't miss the Calhoun Chorus at 4:15 and guest author Nancy Collier at 6pm.

Sign up for Calhoun's Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Program

Sign-ups are now open for Calhoun’s fall 2018 Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program. The CSA parent volunteer team will be available for sign-ups on Mon., May 21, at the 74th Street lobby from 8-9:30am, and at the 81st Street lobby from 2:30-4pm (please bring a check to sign up). Be among the first ten people to sign up for next fall’s CSA program and you'll receive a free reusable CSA tote bag!

Boys' Volleyball Team Wins Double NYCAL Championships!

The Boys’ Varsity Volleyball athletes are the 2018 NYCAL Tournament champions and regular season co-champions! The Cougars took on Masters School in the tourney finals on Fri., May 11, winning three sets to one to capture the tournament championship title.

Join Cougar fans to cheer for the Boys' Varsity Volleyball team in the NYCAL Championship Tournament semifinals on Wed., May 9, in our 81st Street gym (time and opponent to be determined.) A win in the semis would advance the Cougars to the championship finals on Fri., May 11.


New Volleyball Training Program for 8th-12th Graders, Spring 2018

Spring Coed Volleyball Evening Training Program includes Tuesday & Thursday sessions hosted by Calhoun and run by varsity and club level coaches, including college players. The sessions are open to any rising 8th grader with club experience and all rising 9th-12th grade player; all genders welcome. Prepare for the Fall season with these indoor training sessions! The cost is $500 for the full spring training program.

New Cougar Magazine Hits the Stands

The fourth edition of "The Cougar," an Upper School literary and arts magazine, is now available online! Like previous issues, the fourth edition includes art, photography, writing and poetry by Calhoun Upper School students.

Spring MS Theater Festival, May 16-17

The Middle School Theater Program presents a Spring MS Theater Festival on May 16 & 17, featuring a scene from "The Glass Menagerie," and the parody "For Whom the Southern Belle Tolls" by Christopher Durang. There will also be comic scenes and improvisation by the MS Comedy and Improvisational Theater classes. Performances begin at 6pm in the Mary Lea Johnson Performing Arts Center, located in Calhoun's 81st Street building.


Cougar Symposium Features Alum Advice on Career Paths

US Theater: Student Voice Festival, April 19-21
