Man Who Came to Dinner Poster

The Upper School theater production presents Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman's 1939 comedy The Man Who Came to Dinner.

Three evening performances will be held at 7pm on Thurs., Dec. 13, Fri., Dec. 14, and Sat., Dec. 15; a matinee at 2pm will also be held on Sat., Dec. 15. All performances will take place in Calhoun’s Mary Lea Johnson Performing Arts Center, at 81st Street. (Theater is wheelchair accessible.) This performance is recommended for 12+ years old.

During a cross-country lecture tour, notoriously acerbic New York radio personality Sheridan Whiteside slips on the icy steps of the house of the Stanleys—a prominent Ohio family—and insists on recuperating in their home during the Christmas holidays. The overbearing, self-centered celebrity soon comes to dominate the lives of the residents and everyone else who enters the household. Hollywood stars, penguins, an octopus and an expert on the American cockroach are only a few of his visitors during his whacky and tumultuous stay.
