Support Calhoun’s annual book drive for Project Cicero, which helps supplement classroom libraries in under-resourced New York City public schools. New or gently used books may be delivered to either the 81st or 74th Street lobbies, from February 25 through March 7.
Schools are most in need of gently used or new hardcover and paperback books for children and young adults, including picture books, board books, fiction and non-fiction. Books must be in good condition. No textbooks, please.
Since its inception in 2001, Project Cicero has distributed over two million books to 11,000 New York City classrooms and school libraries, reaching more than 500,000 students. Donations come from hundreds of schools as well as from many publishers.
This year, Calhoun's Project Cicero Book Drive is being led by Dana Wolfson and the third graders. For more information, contact Debbie Aronson, Director of Community Service.
