Explore different movement techniques and how you can fit movement into your daily routine at a free Movement Studies Workshop for the Calhoun community, Monday, October 15, 4:30-6pm, in the Lower School theater at 160 W. 74th St. The workshop is organized by Lower School teacher Priscilla Marrero and led by a series of guest artists and movement practitioners.
The first Movement Studies Workshop on October 15 will be led by guest artist Goussy Célestin, who will guide participants through a series of improvisation, rhythm, and call-and-response activities as tools to generate liberation of the mind, body and spirit. The workshop series will continue with new facilitators and themes on January 14, March 4 and May 6.
“Movement is so important to our well-being,” says Priscilla. “I am excited to invite a diverse group of facilitators for this year's workshop series. I hope you can join us!"
The workshop is free and open to all Calhoun community members (ages 12+) and friends. Please wear comfortable clothing to move in. RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org.
