Amadi Williams is a multidisciplinary artist from Brooklyn NY, who loves to skate and dance. Through her art, she explores giving a voice to the silenced and bringing attention to social justice issues. Her work always has a message behind it, helping to stir the audience to advocate for the issues she discusses.
Black Hair is one of the major pillars within the black community. This image is a reinterpretation of a photo I found that I thought perfectly expresses the mother-daughter bond of sitting across from the television while your mother braids your hair. It's something that I am trying to learn and hopefully pass down to my own children.
