Teachers encourage community building in the classroom by encouraging children to help one another and collaborate in group activities such as art, collage making or building.

Activities that support development:

• Family unit - Children feel pride in sharing their own family traditions and learn that there are many types of families.
• Celebrating holidays around the world and inviting families in to share traditions, celebrations, food, art and books
• Celebrating seasons, which helps create bonds through the sharing of a familiar experience
• Classroom clean-up (“We all share this room; we all take responsibility for keeping it clean.”)
