Montessori Kindergarten

Montessori Kindergarten

In Calhoun’s Montessori Kindergarten program, children explore, discover and grow in a vibrant, hands-on learning environment. In this dynamic program, your child builds a strong foundation in key areas like language arts, math and social studies, while also developing confidence, independence and resilience.

Beyond core academics, our Montessori Kindergarten program offers a broad curriculum that includes STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math), Spanish, world music and physical education. These subjects nurture curiosity and provide opportunities for children to explore new ideas and develop diverse skills.

In our mixed-age Montessori classrooms, Kindergarten students play a key role in fostering a sense of community. They take on leadership positions, helping peers and teachers, and learning valuable skills in collaboration, empathy and social responsibility. This environment supports autonomy and self-directed learning, allowing each child to progress at their own pace and build confidence in their abilities.

As the "capstone" year in our Montessori early-childhood classrooms, Kindergarten is a time of growth and transformation. Children develop essential academic and life skills that set the stage for future success, all while forming lasting relationships and a deep love for learning.
