Virtually Visit Calhoun
We'd love for families to visit us before applying, and though our buildings are temporarily closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are offering virtual opportunities for you to explore our programs and get to know our vibrant school community.
Learn more about the Calhoun experience at a virtual info session with our Admissions team, or explore our school buildings through video. If you have any questions, please contact Andrew Hume for 3's-2nd grade, Robin Otton for 3rd-8th grades or Shameena Khan for 9th-12th grades.
We're excited to meet you!
Virtual info sessions are an opportunity to meet the Calhoun Admissions team on Zoom, learn about our programs and see images of students and teachers in action.
Calhoun's main building on West End Avenue and 81st Street serves students in 3rd-12th grades, and our 74th Street building serves students in 3's-2nd grade.
Lower School—Early Childhood
Young children are naturally enthusiastic and curious. Our approach to learning in Lower School—Early Childhood begins with meeting children where they are and allowing them to develop at their own pace, by nurturing their sense of inquiry, joy and confidence.
The Middle School is marked by Calhoun’s joyful spirit. You'll find mathematicians tackling algebraic puzzles, scientists creating catapults, and writers publishing their own literary magazine. The course work is multicultural, project-oriented, and designed to stretch students’ thinking from the concrete to the abstract.
Calhoun's Upper School is a strong foundation for growth. The breadth of academic opportunities challenges students to dig deeper, think outside the box and unlock their potential.
