Don't miss the Calhoun Community Orchestra on Thurs., Feb. 22, 7pm. Free and open to the public, the concert takes place in the Mary Lea Johnson Performing Arts Center, 433 West End Avenue (@ 81st Street).
The program features the works of Wolfgang Mozart, Georg Phillipp Telemann and Antonio Vivaldi, plus a Henry Eccles Cello Sonata arranged for string bass by Ben Clinesmith, Calhoun music teacher.
Soloists include Christopher Bubolz (Calhoun winds/brass teacher), Luke Cissell (Calhoun strings teacher), pianist William Deckelbaum (Calhoun sophomore) and NY Philharmonic bass player Satoshi Okamoto (Calhoun parent of 1st grader).
The Calhoun Community Orchestra features a collaboration of inter-generational musicians that includes Calhoun students, faculty, parents, and friends from the nearby community.
