Dear Upper School Students and Families,
Over the past several days, you have received regular communications from Calhoun detailing the school's response to the evolving COVID-19 situation. As Steve shared, school closure and anticipated distance learning for students are necessary measures large institutions have undertaken to help keep everyone safe and healthy.
As we all enter into this uncharted territory, I wanted to share with you some of the structures that are in place for Upper School students.
At Tuesday's Town Hall, students were presented with this one-sheet in order to give them a better sense of what distance learning will look like for Upper Schoolers. We have also created a one-sheet for families so that you can better understand what each day will look like for your student and have some common questions answered.
I will be communicating (very) regularly with the student and parent bodies as we continue to work through these systems, and as we learn more about the potential length of time that distance learning will be needed, I will be able to give you more details about what future programming will look like. For now, we are focused on having Friday be our first day of testing our systems and collecting feedback so that we can be fully prepared if remote teaching and learning continues after spring break.
As always, please reach out with any questions or concerns. I will be in touch!
Take care,
Danny
