Dear Lower School—Early Childhood Families,
I know you have received a ton of emails from Calhoun today so I'll keep this one brief. I really just want to say thank you. Thank you for your partnership, your patience, your feedback and most of all, thank you for sharing your children with us.
Though we've all been focussed on the past few weeks and months, which have challenged us deeply, there were six meaningful months of in-person school this year before we went our separate ways. In planning for this morning's Second Grade Summer Send-Off, we kept that perspective in mind and made sure to remind the students and ourselves of our experiences and achievements prior to our separation.
As I watched all of the end-of-year slideshows that were shared in various clusters, the feelings of joy and connection were palpable. I will keep those feelings close to me as we part for the summer and until we can be together again in the fall. Until then, I'll be working throughout the summer along with a team of faculty members and administrators to further develop our hybrid learning plans. You'll be hearing from us throughout the summer, and feel free to be in touch with any questions or concerns. To those of you who are not returning to Calhoun in the fall, I wish you all the very best.
Wishing you all a healthy, safe and a restorative summer season.
Hugs, Alison
