Dear Calhoun Families,
As we prepare to reopen our school buildings for in-person learning on October 7, we ask that each family complete a brief survey indicating whether they plan to be in-person or remain fully remote.
Your response is crucial to our planning efforts. Please complete this survey by Wednesday, September 23.
A few reminders as we look ahead to the start of in-person learning:
- All families have the option to remain remote if they choose (in full or in part), and can shift to in-person learning with two weeks notice and the concurrence of the Division Director.
- We urge all families to keep in mind the NYS quarantine requirements for travelers returning from a list of hot-spot states — students will not be allowed on campus if they are required to quarantine.
- We strongly urge all community members to get flu shots this year and to do so before they return to our school buildings, ideally before October 1.
- We will be providing more details shortly about screening and testing. Our intent is to test all community members — students and employees — on a regular schedule.
- If you are interested in carpools or bus service to Calhoun and have not already filled out this survey, please do so to receive more information from our Transportation Task Force.
We will continue to be in touch over the next few weeks with information about our reopening schedule and plans. If you have any questions or concerns in the meantime, please don't hesitate to be in touch with me or your Division Director.
Best,
Andrew Hume
Director of Enrollment & Relationships
