Four years: a Presidential term, an Olympiad, a complete high school experience. Four years ago this week, we left campus for spring break and did not return for six months. 

Happy New Year! I realize it's almost February, but I subscribe to the one-month rule for remarking on birthdays and New Year's.

I say something like this every year, but I can’t believe we’re heading into the final school weekend of 2023.

As we celebrate Thanksgiving this week, families and friends will be gathering in troubled times. International news is grim and provokes outrage, and the start of the quadrennial election season in the US feels ominous and unprecedented. 

On Tuesday morning, I wrote to families to offer resources about how to help children – of different ages – cope with anxiety and trauma. This evening, I want to address that trauma more directly, and more personally.
