Calhoun partners with Carpool to School to help our families arrange carpools, and also offers families the option to pay for limited van/car service. If interested in car service, please complete this short survey or contact Andrew Hume, Director of Enrollment.
What is the birth date cutoff for preschool and kindergarten?
For the 3's, 4's and kindergarten programs, our birth date cutoff is August 31. That means students must be the age of their grade/age group by August 31 of the year they begin the program. 3's students must turn 3 by August 31; 4's students must turn 4 by August 31; and kindergarten students must turn 5 by August 31.
For the young 3's program, students must turn 3 between September 1 and December 31 of the year they begin school.

When and how will we be notified about the admissions decision?
Calhoun follows ISAAGNY guidelines. Deadline and notification dates for the 2022-23 school year will be announced soon.
Are there additional costs besides tuition?
Books and required school trips are included in tuition, as are daily lunch and breakfast.
After school programs (ASP) and summer camp programs are not included in the tuition. For families receiving financial aid, the cost of in-house after school programs is reduced by the same percentage as the aid award. Annual Parent Association dues ($100 per family) are additional.

How can I reapply to Calhoun if I am denied admission?
Students denied admission must wait one year before re-applying to Calhoun. All application materials (application, application fee, transcripts and letters of recommendation) must be submitted by the published deadline as reapplications are treated as new applications and are considered without reference to the initial admissions decision.
Exceptions to the one-year wait may be made for current families or families applying to a new division.
