We are delighted to share news about our After School Music (“ASM”) private lesson program and we appreciate your patience as the new school year gets underway. There are a few items outlined below that may be helpful as you consider enrolling your child in ASM lessons.
As of this writing, we expect to be able to offer on-site ASM lessons this fall.
These lessons will provide an enjoyable outlet for concentrated work and individual attention. Individual lessons promote skills, achievement and enthusiasm and are offered in 30-, 45-, 60-, and 90-minute increments.
Private lessons are available to LS-E, MS, and US students on the following instruments:
- Flute, Saxophone, Trombone, Baritone Horn
- Violin, Viola
- Voice
- Piano
- Songwriting, Composition, Music video making
Fee: A lesson's length, the number of lessons and the start date determines the semester’s tuition, the charge for each lesson is:
- $65 for a 30 minute lesson
- $95 for a 45 minutes lesson
- $120 for a 60 minutes lesson
- $150 for a 90 minutes lesson
For 3rd-5th graders, we recommend that lessons be 30-minutes in length.
Financial Aid (“FA”) students who receive financial aid and who participate in Calhoun School ensembles (grades 5 and older playing winds, brass, strings and chorus) who wish to further their study of that particular instrument will be charged for lessons at their FA% rate. FA is not offered for piano or non-ensemble lessons.
Invoices will be sent from the Music Department once the number of lessons, the lesson day, and lesson length is arranged between the parent and the teacher, the bill is to be paid in full upon receipt. A $28 registration fee for each child, each semester, is required for all lessons.
