US Spring Session Allows for Exploration Outside of Standard Curriculum

For one week between the last two mods, the entire Upper School participates in mini-courses that allow for exploration and intense learning outside of the standard curriculum. This year's Spring Session workshops included Art in New York, Marine Biology, Perfume Through the Ages, The Bite of Martial Arts, and many more!

5th Grade Language Arts Unit Focuses on Brooklyn Bridge & NYC

Fifth graders have been working on a language arts nonfiction unit focused on the Brooklyn Bridge and New York City. In addition to meeting with Kriss Roebling '83, a relative of the bridge's engineers and designers, fifth graders also walked across the Brooklyn Bridge in preparation of writing their own stories.

First Grade Art Class Explores World of Colors & Value

In Calhoun's first grade art class, students explored the exciting world of colors and value. They embarked on a creative journey, starting with the fundamentals of color theory by crafting their vibrant color wheels. Drawing inspiration from Henri Rousseau's style, the students channeled their inner artists to compose jungle scenes.
