Calhoun Summer Camps offers exciting programs for ages up to 18—
all directed by professional educators and artists.

 


Calhoun Movie-Making Camp

For kids entering 2nd–5th grades

This two-week camp gives students the opportunity to write their own scripts and music, create their own settings, act, direct, and do their own camera-work. Perfect for campers with a keen interest in cinema!
Open to students from all schools.



Calhoun Summer Shakespeare

For 10–18-year-olds

A five-week intensive theater program, taking young actors through all stages of a Shakespearean production (including set constructions, costume building and lighting), culminating in a full-scale production!
Open to students from all schools.



Calhoun Summer Jazz

For 14–18-year-olds

This week-long intensive jazz workshop provides an immersion experience in jazz. Students learn the basics of jazz improvisation, music theory and jazz history. The program concludes with a public concert.
Open to students from all schools.



Calhoun Summer Music

For rising 6th–11th graders

A 3-day camp is for woodwind, brass and string players with at least one year of playing experience. Students will play in a variety of ensembles, study music theory, and perform together. Great opportunity for students to play in small ensembles while being coached by professionals!



Calhoun Comedy Camp

For rising 8th graders to 2017 high school graduates

This two-week camp gives students the opportunity to create a comedic piece to be filmed or performed live. They will learn the importance of improvisation and the fine line between comedy and tragedy.
Open to students from all schools.
