Mariana Iranzi, Lower School music teacher, offers one-on-one instrumental lessons for students in Kindergarten-4th grade at 85th Street. Beginner and intermediate students will learn proper technique, basic music theory and reading in a wide range of musical styles. Students will explore with improvisation and composition, and will be encouraged to find their unique talents and develop an appreciation for music. Should you wish to enroll, the specific instruments taught and the location will be coordinated with Mariana upon registration.
Additionally, Nina Basescu will offer one-on-one lessons for violin. Jenny Xu will also offer piano lessons on Wednesdays.
Private lessons are available to LS students on the following instruments:
- Piano (Mariana Iranzi and Jenny Xu)
- Guitar/e-Guitar/Loog
- Ukulele
- Voice
- e-Bass
- Percussion
- Violin (Nina Basescu)
Fee: $70 for 30 minutes
Please note that Financial Aid (“FA”) is only offered to grades 5 and older playing winds, brass, strings and chorus. Financial Aid is not offered for grades K-4th.
ASM fees will be billed to your Enrollment Portal once the number of lessons and the lesson day/time is arranged between the parent/guardian and the teacher; the bill is to be paid in full upon receipt. A $28 registration fee for each child, each semester, is required for all lessons.
ASM lessons are a semester-long commitment and we do not offer refunds.
Transportation
We are not able to transport LS children from ASP classes, or care for children in advance of, or following, their scheduled lesson. Please make arrangements to pick up your child after school or following ASP and accompany them to their assigned lesson location at the designated time as arranged with the child's music instructor. We are not able to make any exceptions to this policy.
