ASP@74: 3's-2nd Grade
Classes take place at Calhoun's Robert L. Beir Lower School building at 160 West 74th Street.
A wide range of activities and classes are offered each semester, including beginner chess, performing and visual arts, sports, STEAM classes, and Cub Club (which offers a variety of activities). Class schedules and offerings change each semester, though many favorites continue. ASP@74 classes and services are only open to Calhoun students in 3's-2nd grade.
Semesters, Class Times and Vacation Days
Semesters are 14 to 17 weeks long. Classes run daily from 3:30-4:30pm, with the option for extended day care until 6pm. Students will enjoy snack and open play from 2:30-3:30pm before classes begin. There are no ASP classes on holidays, vacation days or half days when Calhoun is closed.
Check the online calendar to see dates when school is closed.
Prices will vary depending on material costs and whether the program is hosted by Calhoun or led by an affiliated, outside organization. Financial aid is available for ASP.
Enrolling for Classes
Registration for ASP@74 is available online. ASP fees will be billed to your SchoolAdmin account.
ASP@74 Drop-In Service
Families may take advantage of our ASP drop-in service, which provides emergency coverage or late pickup for your child at the end of the school day. This service is available whether or not your child is registered for ASP classes.
To use this service, a Drop-in Pass must be requested (online), redeemable for five days of drop-in care. To request drop-in care, parents/guardians must go to the same online Drop-in Care: Passes & Request form. Passes expire at the end of the school year.
ASP@74 Drop-In Fees
1 day Cub Club drop-in, 2:30pm-6pm: $70
1 extended day drop-in, 4:30pm-6pm: $30
1 five-day drop-in pass, 2:30-6pm: $350
Extended Day Care 4:30-6pm
Please note that ASP@74 Classes end at 4:30pm (unless otherwise noted). Students must be picked up when class ends. If you require regular care after 4:30pm, please register for Extended Day.
Late Pickup Fee
ASP@74 ends promptly at 6pm. There is no extended care available. If a child is picked up later than 6pm, the family will be charged an additional dollar for every minute past 6pm. Late fees will be reflected in your SchoolAdmin account. Financial aid does not apply to these additional charges.
If lateness is habitual, ASP has the right to refuse service.
