Registration Note

Classes run daily from 3:30-4:30pm (unless otherwise noted), with the option for Extended Day care until 6pm. Students will enjoy snack and open play from 2:45-3:30pm before classes begin.
Prices listed are for the full semester. Thursday and Friday classes are prorated to reflect fewer weekly sessions in the semester. Financial aid is available for ASP.

Yoga
Grades 4's-1st

Join us as we move, groove, dance, stretch, bend, twist and play yoga! We’ll play with partner poses, group poses, acro-yoga poses, invention of poses, and more! We’ll play yoga games and enjoy mindfulness activities (such as calming crafts and interesting tasks) to release energy, connect, laugh, focus, and calm or energize the body and brain. Each week there will be a fun yoga challenge (should you choose to take it…), too. Class ends in deep relaxation and kids will float home afterwards. Come play yoga!

Dancetastic!

Whether you want to learn some new moves, want to boogie, or want to choreograph your own dances, Dancetastic is the place for you! With an emphasis on joyful movement and connecting ourselves with our bodies, each Dancetastic class will begin with an introduction to various dance techniques (ballet, jazz, contemporary, house, improvisation, and more), then will transition into creative movement games to learn choreographic tools (musicality, quality of movement, improvisation, etc...). At the end of the course, students will apply their skills to collaborate in choreographing and creating their own final dance! No prior dance experience necessary, but craziness, creativity, and collaboration are highly encouraged! Please wear/bring comfortable clothes.

What's in a Song?: Writing, Recording, & Releasing Music
Grades 1-2

Express yourself through the rewarding process of writing, recording, and releasing music! In this class, students will study the inner-workings of their favorite songs, learn common pop song format, and basic music theory and musicianship skills. We'll learn how to write catchy and memorable melodies, create lyrics inspired by their life experience, and collaborate, edit, and write together as a group. Students will be introduced to the recording experience and the process of releasing music in today's day and age. By the end of this class, students will have at least one song written and recorded and available for listening and sharing with their families!

Calhoun Athletics, in partnership with U1 Sports, is excited to offer this new soccer class. Participants will learn the fundamental skills of the game in a fun and growth-based environment. Through a mix of creative gameplay, skills training, and introductions to the Calhoun Athletic Department's culture, participants will learn the game and leave excited to continue their soccer journey at Calhoun.

Combine logic and creativity to bring objects to life with Launch’s merging of computer programming and animation! Using MIT’s Scratch 3.0 computer language, students create code that energizes their favorite superheroes, advances animated sprites through multi-level video games, and powers music videos with each kid as the star! But the fun and learning does not end there. Kids explore claymation, pixilation, and other stop motion techniques to create imaginative and entertaining videos with their peers.
