Students in our Upper School Advanced Chemistry class conducted an organic chemistry lab where they synthesized banana oil, an organic molecule known for its strong, fruity scent. Through this investigation, the class explored the relationship between chemical structure and function and considered the complexity and significance of smell. This hands-on experiment helped students connect chemical concepts to real-world sensory experiences.
