Montessori Children's House Students Investigate Planets & Solar System
Our Montessori Children's House students have been engrossed in discussions about planets. They began their journey by naming all the planets, and then engaged in various activities to help them remember the planets' order from the sun and deepen their knowledge of the solar system. As part of their cosmic exploration, the mixed-grade classroom also delved into the fascinating world of Mars and were captivated by a book detailing the rovers currently exploring the Martian surface. As a hands-on activity, students crafted clay models of each planet in our solar system. This creative exercise reinforced their understanding of planetary sizes and features, and allowed them to express their artistic flair.
