Fifth Graders Mark Poem in Your Pocket Day

In honor of National Poetry Month in April, fifth graders learned about the different types of poetry. As a culminating project, they marked Poem in Your Pocket Day, held on April 29, by making their own creations. All fifth graders assembled fabric pockets to hold poems of their choosing, which were then displayed in the LS-E Language Arts area. Their work, part of a citywide celebration, helped to spread the joy of poetry with the Calhoun community.
