Kindergartners Count Pumpkin Seeds for Fall Math Activity

In the spirit of Halloween, our kindergartners tried to figure out how many seeds there are in three pumpkins (small, medium and large) brought in by students' families. They learned the word “estimate” means guess, and they estimated that the largest pumpkin had the most seeds. However, after counting the seeds from each pumpkin by twos, fives and tens, they found out that the smallest pumpkin had the most seeds! It was a great activity for our young learners to work together and use their math skills to find solutions.
