Kindergartners Welcome Author & Calhoun Parent Denise Rosario Adusei
Denise Rosario Adusei, an author and Calhoun parent, joined kindergartners to read her newly published book, Cesaria Feels the Beat. The book tells of story of Cesaria, a young deaf girl who is excited to perform with her pride of peacocks in a Carnival parade. The only problem is that she doesn't want to wear her shoes because they prevent her from feeling the beat of the music. The book is rich in themes of equity, ability, inclusion and allyship, and students absolutely loved it! Thank you for visiting, Denise!
