The 2022 spring sports season wrapped up in a triumphant way in late May, with gold medals, league titles and a state championship. From our veteran programs, to our newer teams, student-athletes were guided by Calhoun Athletics' core values: self-awareness, teamwork, empathy and resilience.
Varsity Boys/Non-Binary Students Baseball
The Calhoun Varsity Boys/Non-Binary Students Baseball team topped off its impressive season by defeating Columbia Prep 5-1 to win the 2022 NYCAL championship. It was a game full of energy and excitement, and Calhoun’s first baseball championship in ten years!
Varsity Boys/Non-Binary Students Volleyball
The Varsity Boys/Non-Binary Students Volleyball team defeated Horace Mann 3-0 to win the NYCAL league, and defeated them again 3-1 to win the NYSAIS championship, their third state championship in a row. Two claps for Varsity Boys/Non-Binary Students Volleyball!
Varsity Track & Field
Members of the Varsity Track & Field team medaled in nine events in the NYCAL championship meet, including Liam H. '22's gold in the boys' 800m and Harper C. '26's gold in the girls' 800m. Congrats to all the runners!

Varsity Girls/Non-Binary Students Softball
We were excited to have softball back on the field after missing two seasons due to COVID. They fielded a young group this season and secured key wins over UNIS and Trevor Day. The future of the program is bright as this group continues to train and work together.
Varsity Boys/Non-Binary Students Tennis
This year was the first official Varsity Boys/Non-Binary Students Tennis season in many years! This season's team was an exciting combination of experienced and newer players, and they set a foundation for the continuation and growth of the program, capped off by a victory over Lycee in their final match of the year.
Junior Varsity Boys/Non-Binary Students Volleyball
Junior Varsity Boys/Non-Binary Students Volleyball kicked off their season with an exciting 2-0 victory over Masters. They worked hard throughout the season and displayed teamwork, resilience and their ever-expanding skill set on the court.
Middle School Tennis Club
Middle School Tennis Club returned for its second season this year! The group worked hard learning and practicing the fundamentals, and they shone when they were out on the courts. We look forward to the continued growth of tennis in the Middle School.
Middle School Track
The Middle School Track team worked hard training as a group this season. Multiple Cougars finished top three in their events, including first place finishes in the 100, 200, and 400 meter dashes, as well as in the 4x100 meter relay and 4x400 meter relay.
