In their Español/Creative Movement and Music classes, third graders have been on a collaborative journey to choreograph their own bailes, compose their original music, and write dialogues en español – all inspired by shapes. Their work culminated in the performance, FORMAS, in which each group of students represented a different shape and color, including círculo & rojo, rombo & morado, and triángulo & amarillo. Third graders worked together to creatively interpret how to use music, movement and art to depict their shape and color on stage, and every element of the show was constructed in their unique vision. The performance allowed students to demonstrate the skills they have worked on throughout the year in Español/Creative Movement, Music, PE, and Art, including tempo and números, and celebrated their experimentation through the arts.
