Third Graders Make 3D Plants in STEAM Class

In STEAM class, third graders have been learning about the desert and tundra biomes and which adaptations help plants survive in each biome. They applied their learning by creating their own plants that could survive in either the desert or the tundra. Students began by planning out their plant using graphic organizers – noting how seeds would be dispersed and what adaptations would allow it to survive, before drawing a sketch of the seed and the plant. Next, they used 3Doodler pens to bring their creation to life and drew backgrounds for their 3D plants.
