US Advanced Biology Class Examines Biodiversity in Black Rock Forest

Seniors in our Upper School Advanced Biology class took an overnight trip to Black Rock Forest to further their studies on biodiversity. Black Rock Forest is a living laboratory for field-based research and education, encompassing native terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems that are increasingly rare in the region. Students had the opportunity to hike, collaborate with peers to examine the biodiversity of species of vertebrates, invertebrates, and plants in the forest, and learn about forest research initiatives. For many seniors, this was their first overnight trip, as they moved up from Middle School during the pandemic.
