As a way of fostering connection and understanding across and between students with Black heritage, the US Black Affinity Group took a trip to Brooklyn during Black History/Futures Month. Amina W. ‘25 and US Dean of Students Semeka Smith-Williams coordinated the outing to the Richard Beavers Gallery in Bed-Stuy, where they saw Clarence Heyward’s “American Fiction” exhibit. It was the perfect show to get students talking about Blackness in America.
