Artwork by Dante Z. '23

Calhoun Upper School Theater presents:

Metamorphoses by Mary Zimmerman
Thurs., Dec. 8 - Sat., Dec. 10
Mary Lea Johnson Performing Arts Center

Called by Time the "theater event of the year" in 2003, Mary Zimmerman's Metamorphoses brings Ovid's tales to stunning visual life. In this Calhoun Upper School Theater production, video, sound, music, movement and water conjure the force of Ovid's myths using gorgeous imagery and breathtaking storytelling. The ancient meets the contemporary in both language and image to explore themes of transformation, love, loss, greed, generosity, forgiveness and the power of narrative in the face of inevitable change. The cast embodies gods, heroes, legends and storytellers, all in the hope of a better understanding of what it is that makes us human.

Tickets: $5 suggested donation, to benefit a charity chosen by the cast.
