(re)act
Sunday, January 29, 7pm
Mary Lea Johnson Performing Arts Center
This year's Winter Workshop, entitled (re)act, presents a team of creative Upper School students with a unique artistic and logistical challenge: to write, cast, rehearse, and perform original plays in less than one week. Six talented playwrights saw the stage set – built by our Theater Tech & Design class under the guidance of Peter Russo – for the first time on Monday, January 23 and began writing one-act plays that utilize the built environment in their storytelling. The cast and crew arrive on the morning of Saturday, January 28 for thirty hours of rehearsal, preparation and collaboration (and a sleepover at school!) that will culminate in a public performance on Sunday, January 29 at 7pm.
