Head Lines from Steve: June 2021

Somehow we've made it to the end of this unprecedented year. We'll miss seeing your children every day and we hope that, once the psychic dust settles, they will look back on this as a time when they met a great challenge together, supported by their friends, families and teachers. There was joy and there was heartache, and hopefully we emerge from it stronger.

I was reading with interest the responses to our family survey as they came in last week, and one message I picked up loud and clear is that not everyone loves long emails. I'm going to take that to heart and keep this one brief. I cannot resist ending, as I sometimes do, with a riddle.

Why do fish never take a vacation?
Because they are always in school.

Don't be like fish this summer. I hope you and your children manage to take a vacation of some sort, even if it's just a few days. You certainly deserve it. We'll be waiting for you in September, ready to welcome you to Calhoun's 125th year.

Thank you for putting your trust in us this year.
