The Calhoun Carnival returns to 81st Street on Saturday, May 2 from 11am-5pm. This beloved community tradition is back and better than ever!

Students, families, faculty, and neighbors are invited to join us for a lively afternoon of classic carnival games (and a few new ones, too!), music, food, and a festival-inspired experience.

We’re excited to make sustainability a key part of the festivities! Help us make this year’s Carnival more eco-friendly than ever:

Free Swap
In partnership with the Calhoun Buy Nothing Group, we will be hosting a Free Swap. Bring usable items, including clothing, books, and toys, and exchange them for new-to-you items.

Sneaker Recycling
We will be collecting worn sneakers for shipment to GotSneakers, an organization that will repurpose or recycle them. 

E-Waste Drop-Off

We’ll have a bin on site to help responsibly dispose of e-waste, including any small electronics or household batteries. Please no e-bike batteries.

Water Bottle Refill Station

To cut down on single-use plastics, we’ll have a water station available. Bring your own reusable water bottle and fill up throughout the day.
